Morbid headcanon that Five-Oh have unknowingly crafted very detailed and plausible/possible(for them anyway) plans about what to do should they ever need to do a crime....and properly get rid of a body. 

It starts off with Steve joining Danny and Eric during their lunch hour. The two Jersians were discussing a case. Maybe a recent one they worked on, but most likely one from back in Jersey and they’re talking about how it probably happened. Danny giving his two cents from a detective’s point of view and what he’s used to seeing and Eric adding in additional information based on what he knows and has learned. That topic evolved into a curious question, probably proposed by Eric, about what you’d do if you killed someone and weren’t a cop. They go through the steps of both paths of preemptive and spur of the moment killings and were in deep discussion, Steve is included in and gives his own would be how-tos. They all poke holes in each other’s plans and come up with ‘solutions’ and it gets pretty late into their lunch hour and someone comes looking for them before they realized ‘wtf guys?’ 

Thing is...Jerry and Chin have had similar conversations. Which Kono has randomly found herself joining, and much the same they all give their most clever attempt, poke holes in said plan based on how they would try to solve it, and then come up with solutions and counter attacks. 

Jerry and Eric obviously talk about this further, bring in Max into it this time. He adds medical examiner knowledge to the plans. 

5-0 + Morbid curiosity + knowledge of the law + their personal experience/abilities = interesting midnight talks that would creep out other departments.

I can’t explain why...but I feel like Danny would have gone to a lot of raves in his teen/young adult/college years 

And like...maybe every once in a while he still goes out to party like that. Steve accidentally finds out cos he shines a blacklight on Danny and it reveals some glow in the dark paint going down his shirt. And Steve being Steve isn’t below ripping Danny’s shirt open to see the rest. 

It’s Danny’s way of letting loose and being gay. He’s sort of scared of coming out and just tells half the story, which is he likes to party. But it only just makes Steve feel kinda old cos Danny’s never invited him to a rave and thinks that Danny thinks that he can’t handle it. 

Problems don’t stop but get worse when the next suspect of their latest case is one of Danny’s partners and so Danny is the guy’s alibi and it’s NOT how he wanted to come out but he can’t, in good conscience, let the guy get locked up. 

The case is solved but the air around the office is tense. Slowly, one by one, each of the teammates tells Danny something akin to that it’s okay, no judgment, they’re there for him and still love him. The last one to tell him something was Steve... it was hella awkward. And it would be a week later that Steve does something. They’re working a case, and they go in undercover and Steve kisses Danny to keep their cover...but it wasn’t a simple peck or even lips to lips....it was full make-out mode, tongue and everything. When Steve pulled back, he looked mesmerized, panting heavily, gulped hard as the realization of what he did sunk in.... but he wasn’t pulling away. 

They managed to work through the rest of the case without incident but once it was over and everyone else went home, Danny cornered Steve in his office to demand, ever so kindly, ‘what the ever-loving fuck, Steven?’ 

Steve had no excuse. He just went on instinct, and he tells Danny that since he learned about Danny’s sexuality that it’s something that hasn’t left him alone and he just...he just acted. Naturally, Danny made Steve explain himself fully. He wasn’t going to act on very strong feelings that have built up for over a decade on what might be a whim or a passing fancy...once he’s fully sure that Steve wants it at the same level he wants it, then he goes all in. 

It’s about half a year into their relationship, after they’ve tested the waters and decided what they like, what they’re into...what they’ve gotten comfortable with, that Steve wants to go to a rave with Danny. Danny’s not sure Steve’s...rave ready. Steve pouts the whole day, but once they get home Danny’s got a surprise for him. All the lights are off, Danny’s only wearing a neon-colored speedo with glow in the dark paint. ‘Property of Steve’ with an arrow pointing down to his crotch made Steve blush and smirk as he strips down and kisses Danny, they dance to Rave music before painting each other, before making out and making a mess and then making love.

Kono: Hey Steve, nice top!

Danny: I have a name...

Steve: *Blushes!*

Rest of 5-0: OH MY GOD!

“Our possible target is gonna be at this event. We’re not sure if our suspects will try anything at the event or after so we’re sending a lucky couple undercover.” Lou explained. 

“Do me a favor and bring me back a chocolate covered strawberry, yeah? I’ve been craving them.” Danny told Tani since he assumed it was gonna be her and Junior going undercover. 

“Actually, you can get it yourself. Cos you’re the one going in. It’s a couple’s event...same-sex couples. I would love to go but looking around the room you might see how outnumbered I am so.” Tani said with a shrug. She then shared a look with Lou. They seemed to be having a heated debate which Tani lost, so she added. “You and Adam can raid the buffet table while keeping an eye on our target” 

“What?” Adam asked, surprised. 

“Excuse me?” Steve demanded, shocked. 

“Well...see, we need you running point here, man.” Lou began. When Steve didn’t seem to buy it, Lou added. “Okay look. If this was a PTA meeting or a class reunion thing, yeah we’d send you in with your boy. But we don’t need the husband vibe who seemingly been married for over twenty years.”

“They need to blend in, so the boyfriend vibe is what we’re shooting for,” Tani said. 

“I...you...you think I can’t pass as Danny’s boyfriend?” Steve demanded. “I’m not old!” 

|| lol small ficlet I had in my head, I had to write it out. The ‘what would Steve’s reaction be if when 5-0 has to do the ‘gay couple’ thing and Danny was chosen but he was not?’ 

The answer is: not a very good one. 

He’s gonna pout and complain all through the op. But 5-0′s good-natured in their teasing so I think Adam and Danny would have fun. And idk, Danny deserves all the love so let hi have his husband and his boyfriend and let Grace have ALL the dads. I’m off to bed now, bye~||

I just want to write how much I love McDanno and just incredible Alex/Scott dynamics, chemistry. But since I'm quite a newbie in this fandom I wanna ask... Am I late to the party? B/c it's season 10 already, McDanno is not canon (pls tell me there is even slightest possibility that they will eventually go for it) and Scott is about to have even fewer eps in the next season as far as I read... Is it really so hopeless and sad? :(

Hi there! First off, welcome!  With how fandoms are now a day, I can understand the feeling of being overwhelmed or even kind of shy or scared to enter a fandom that people have lived through. We are getting a season ten so Hawaii 5-0 has been/will be a decade long thing. My suggestion to you if to give it the fandom content a try. Ignoring the fanbase itself and decide if the show and its characters are something that interests you. If the answer is yes, then it doesn’t matter if the show has years in it and you’ve only just started. Keep watching it and enjoying it until the end or until there’s a point you personally reach where it no longer interests you. That’s my advice for any show or fandom in general. 

Now for Hawaii 5-0 specifically. Alex/Scott have an AMAZING chemistry and it’s what gave the McDanno ship life. It’s more profound in earlier seasons. As you do go into further seasons they introduce new characters, new dynamics and they’re always testing waters to see what works and what doesn’t. And you also have to take into consideration that as much as we adore these actors and the characters they play, they are human beings who make choices and have family to think about outside of the show. 

Other than that, a view has to keep somewhat in mind about the network, producers, writers...if it were just up to the actors themselves, McDanno would have been canon a long time ago. It’s well known within the fandom that Scott’s kinda the McDanno Captain. 

Will it ever be canon? I can’t say. Do I hope that as their last ballsy move in a series finally when it does end, it ends with Steve and Danny finally making it clear that they want an actual romantic/sexual relationship...to actually be boyfriends...that would be one hell of a power move. And maybe it’s just wishful thinking, but I’m hoping for it. But I”m also a realist. I do think Hawaii 5-0 and McDanno is important and helping pave the way for future shows and having the main characters, who are the same sex, realize that after a decade of going to extremes for each other, being there when it’s just the mundane, who have created this level of trust that goes beyond words...that it is a love that while it’s amazing platonically, these are also two healthy, sexually active attractive people who would bone....and have it be accepted and canon and it doesn’t have to take away much from whatever the story of the show is trying to take away. 

I can’t speak for everyone but personally keep watching 5-0, yes for the McDanno, but along the way, these characters were so complex but funny and brilliant and fierce, and I felt like they became family. A show is sometimes as strong as it’s ‘side characters’ and Hawaii 5-0 has some of the best side characters ever who are there more than just once for mere convenience and fitted into the lives of the task force. 

I’m not too sure what season ten brings. Rumors are best taken with a grain of salt. The McDanno community here is great. I follow a lot of amazing McDanno blogs that even though McDanno isn’t technically canon, the way some of these blogs create content, it’s hard to not think it is. 

So, all in all, McDanno is stronger in earlier seasons. That’s more of the ‘dating’ stage. In later seasons, it’s more like they’re basically more than married and are comfortable in their relationship that they don’t need to be at each other’s side 24/7(even though we love it when they are). There will be moments when you ask wtf the writers are doing but my advice is to find the McDanno shippers on here, and let them hold your hand and show you what could be. Hawaii 5-0 is a really good show, it has action, and a lot of heart underneath it all. With characters you will love individually and together. It’s not hopeless just more unlikely and not sad as much as somber. McDanno Shippers are those beautiful people who can see the beauty of what could be but are grounded enough to see the world for what it is.  

Any show is a case to case thing. Everyone is different. If it’s for you and you like it, don’t let anyone stop you from watching it or liking it. If you try it and you just don’t want to, same way don’t let anyone force you to keep watching it. It’s all about you, darling. Because sometimes I think in fandom we forget that it’s entertainment. It’s for fun...not fan wars, or loyalties to a character/ship/some other third thing.  I feel like I”m rambling now but that’s my take on it and I hope it helps. I’ll personally keep watching because Hawaii 5-0 for me has the perfect balance of being funny, clever, action pact...there are feels but they’re extremely heavy each episode. It’s something I can watch that’ll make me feel lighter, more loved, more understood, and gives me hope thinking there are people like 5-0 actually out there.

McDanno + Wedding plans

Okay so I love McDanno proposals and wedding days and honeymoons...but you guys ever think about the wedding planning? 

Okay so! 

A very scary combination is a deliciously over the moon happy engaged to his Danno Steve, Catherine, and Grace. Steve would call Cat one day she’s in town(f-canon. I love her as a character and they kinda botched her character. She’s totally one of Steve’s besties and gonna be one of Steve’s grooms-people) and they actually convert Steve’s den ins a war-room for the wedding planning. 

One day Danny walks in with groceries and sees cork boards and whiteboards with flower options, centerpieces, venue options, menu ideas. There are different color strings connecting everything. Blue for Danny cos Steve bought that string to try and knit something for Danny and it reminded him of his eyes. Green is for Steve cos...he ran out of string and it was the only color left other than red, which was being used for things undecided yet. 

Steve would have Jerry keeping track of things online. Making sure he’s up to date with email reminders and RSVPs. He’s talked with Duke about who would be available to cover 5-0 in case of an emergency. He would love for all of HPD to attend the wedding and would hate the idea of them having to go off and save the day and wants a backup team on hand just in case. (It’s them so naturally while everyone’s already at the venue waiting to start BOTH groomsmen are the ones late to their own wedding because they were off saving Hawaii. But that’s another post all together xD) 

Is it bad I can see Steve as wedding perfection crazed as Monica Bing from FRIENDS? 

Grace has a binder of the perfect wedding she’s been planning. Danny thought it was hers. It wasn’t. She’s been wanting Steve and Danny to marry since like...a month after she met Steve. 

Iron Chef Morimoto actually is the one cooking for them. 

Steve gets some of Danny’s and his favorite players who happen to be on the island at the time to come. 

Eddie Williams gets Steve the biggest tank the limo could fit(I still remember that freaking, glorious post about the fish tank) because Steve told Grace how much he would have appreciated it. Grace tells her grandpa and so it happens. 

Mary gets to be Steve’s ‘Best Person’ with Junior, Nahele, Kawika, and Catherine being his groom’s people. Danny gets Eric as his best man with Tani, Lou, Jerry(I’m blanking on people but I’m sure there are others)

There’s a joint bachelor party but I don’t think either of them would sit still long enough before they have to go and claim their future hubby. They still have fun and let the others enjoy the strippers along with all the booze and dancing. They’ve been either alone or with the wrong person for long enough. They’re more than ready to say goodbye to the bachelor life. Hell, they disappear early on and have a pre-honeymoon thingy.

I’m an old soul so even though I’m only 26 I feel ancient. And I’m a writer so I have the mindset of trying to see different POV’s. As I got older I also learned to understand what makes up a show or movie. Actor’s ability, producers, locations, contracts...all the behind the scenes stuff that, if they weren’t an issue...the show would be totally different. 

As an example... Kono Kalakaua. She was one of the best characters in TV history for me. She was strong, fierce, intelligent, loyal, kind, beautiful, independent, complex, and empathetic. Arguably she got one of the better send-offs a character like hers could want. She had a cause that she felt deeply for and went after it. 

Kono and Adam had one of the best relationships in TV history too, and I am still very bitter about Kono leaving and having them break up. It’s maddening because I love Adam so I’m glad we kept him BUT...so much went into Kono and Adam’s relationship. REAL work, and despite the challenges and being almost a Romeo and Juliet scenario, they were still one of the healthier relationships out there. So I hate that the network, behind the scenes stuff got in the way of Kono coming back and it ultimately ruining one of my only favorite straight couples.  

Also I feel like her sniper abilities weren’t given the proper respect it deserves. She was always their chosen sniper if it wasn’t Steve and as far as my shitty memory remembers, she didn’t have any special military training so...that I feel was underrated. 

Sorry for the ran, just...rewatching cos of hiatus and...

I hate that the team has to suffer because of networking decisions. The cousins were a major part of Steve’s life! You just know that when they heard Joe died they would have dropped whatever they had going on and come to help! They got mentioned in passing a few times after they left but now they’re not even mentioned, unless it’s Kono but it’s only in regards of her and Adam’s split and now even less and I just...

Steve has serious abandonment issues and the things that happened behind the TV show have cause two important figures who would NEVER do that to Steve...do that to Steve! And it pissed me off. 

I have to create these headcanons that Chin and Steve Skype every other day, Steve keeping Chin up to date on the high school’s football team and other small stuff that was just theirs. Steve checking in on Kono cos she was like his lil sister and even though Adam’s his friend, he knows what the job can do and why what she’s doing is important and wouldn’t leave her in the lurch.... 

This team is my O’Hana, okay? And I just...I have a lot of feels in how they did them dirty. 

I’m done for now but expect more rants cos...there’s more to rant about
