Congratulations, Maddie, on setting a new world record! Fastest climb of the 50 highest peaks in each US State. We're glad we could help you on your journey.
"I never felt like I couldn’t do it because of my size, or what I looked like, or that I was a girl." -Maddie Miller, who just set a new record for summiting the 50 highest peaks in each US State.
“I was able to help Maddie achieve one of her biggest dreams and goals. And I immediately saw this as my opportunity to give back the gift that I was given of helping somebody–truly selflessly helping them achieve their goals.”
With nine days to spare, Melissa supported Maddie as she set the record for the fastest completion of the 50 Peaks Challenge--crossing all 50 states’ high points off her list in just 41 days. Technology and teamwork has kept them connected along the way, through logistical hurdles, injury, forest fires, night-climbs and van-breakdowns.
The road is constantly changing. Plans are constantly shifting. Technology is keeping the 50 Peaks Challenge achievable even when Melissa and team are nervous about the obstacles ahead.
The team has seen more midnight summits than they expected. Climbing in the dark has become just another part of the 50 Peaks Challenge.
“I woke up for the first time with this fear in my gut that the goal is not going to be achievable." In spite of the fear, Melissa and Maddie keep on climbing towards their 50 Peaks Challenge goal.
