By accident, I classically conditioned Mandana to jump out of bed in excitement whenever I put my glasses on. I feel like I have a hysterically useless superpower 🤓
Poor baby is sick... Pain meds & antibiotics to go.
When you suddenly wake up from a bad dream but you’re a Malinois so you’re ready to put up a fight 💪
The last two days have really hit me hard. I’m in a huge flair that I’ve ignored in hopes of it being temporary and inconsequential. I was so focused on bouncing back from my dislocated ankle that I didn’t realize my heart was at full blast. I feel like I have a really bad sunburn and the flu at the same time so I’m thinking it’s MCAS. I’m crashing hard and it’s awful.
This morning someone had their fluffy white puppy off leash. It was intentional but then the pup got zoomies and the owner couldn’t leash it. I could see the fear and regret on the owners face when she saw her rabbit-sized pup running across the parking lot towards my 67 lb Malinois.
I’m so proud of how well Mandana handled it. I put her in a sit and she just watched the pup quietly. Her training prepares us for moments like this but it isn’t a level of control I expect her to have at this point. She impressed me and got to play a rousing game of sharknado when we got back.
Leash your pets.
I boiled some minced cabbage and gave it to her with the probiotics from the vet. After a while, we went on a walk and she was able to go a little without blood but nothing else passed. I’m thinking there still might be some fabric she needs to pass but at least she doesn’t seem to be in as much discomfort.
My body is not doing well. I was already crashing from MCAS flair. The physical and emotional stress from this is making things worse but since I know what is the problem I can take H1 and H2 blockers to try to calm my mast cells down. I just need to make sure I get more food, water and sodium than I have been getting lately.
