52frames week 22: On The Ground
The weekly prompt this week was pretty self-explanatory - take a photo of something on the ground.
To fulfill that, I went for a walk in the local park today with my birding lens. Saw lots of crows and lots of squirrels (you know how the local parks are) (and don't you worry, those photos are getting queued up soon).
But this park also has brown creepers, one of my favorite birds to see (partly because they're tough to spot, but they're also fun to watch). I was really hoping to spot one, and I got real, real lucky. This one was on a tree trying to catch a HUMONGOUS moth; the moth escaped and the bird gave chase right up close to me, it managed to grab the moth in the air and flew down to ground to get it under control (seen in this photo). Eventually it flew back to the tree with its trophy, and presumably wolfed it down.
Very, very cool to watch!
