10/23/17 Elizabeth Mullen "Abby" One might think that Abby is admiring the colorful autumn leaves, but instead, she is doing what she loves most—squirrel watching. Abby, an 11-year-old golden doodle, is a rescue from Blue Sky Dog Rescue in Mississippi and has been a notable resident of Powderhorn for 2 years. Her favorite place is the park and she spends a lot of her free time playing with the neighbor kids.

10/19/17 David Pierini "Nico's papa" Jesús cradles his dog, Nico, in his van on 17th Avenue South Thursday. Jesús has had Nico for three years and he refers to himself as Nico's papa.

11/5/17 David Pierini "Lily and Raticate" Lily Robarge, 9, pets Raticate, one of two rats the family has as pets. Lily's mom, Tonya, has had pet rats for more than 20 years and says they have a nature similar to dogs. They are affectionate and can be taught tricks, Tonya Robarge said.
