saiyuki doesn't have a big fandom (anymore) but i swear gojyo and hakkai have the biggest most codependent potential ever as a couple. they put the fun in dysfunctional except they function perfectly, thank you. forever intertwined sewn together since their previous life. one is insane but likes to act as the team mom and the other has struck gold because he has mommy issues a mile wide. one is a Handsome Lech which must be a giant stroke of luck for the other because there's no way he's not a degenerate pervert. one is a lawless slouch and one is all prim and proper but guess who's the one who got brought in out of the street by the other. stepford smiler stone cold mothersisterfucker and his lowlife criminal moral compass. "i keep him employed and he keeps me on the level" type shit. "you're the only one who i recognize and who can calm me down when i lose my mind on magical bullshit, but if YOU lose your mind on magical bullshit and start killing (and eating) people i'll kill anyone who tries to stop you because i need you alive and you're more important to me than the rest of the world and also i learned nothing from the first time i committed mass murder because my wife who was also my sister died". has never been loved before (and has a lot of love to give) + loves him with an insane single minded tunnel vision focus. comeon

They really just went buck wild for the last few episodes of the first series, didn't they?

Goku getting frustrated and demanding to know what he is to Sanzo. Sobbing because he was so scared he wouldn't wake up. Sanzo repeating his 'I won't let myself care about someone again' lines while cradling his little monkey in his arms.

Hakkai's fucking love theme playing over the whole scene of Gojyo carrying him up the stairs, and his flirty as all hell voice when he says 'I'm willing to bet I'm the first guy you've ever held in your arms' The crash zoom on Hakkai's face when Gojyo tells him he already has everything he wants in life.

I can only imagine Kou and the others being like 'Okay, you four seem to have this whole... Thing... going on right now. We're gonna... Back out awkwardly.'

A silly storyboard for my highschool AU 585 with the song Bên Trái - Kiên Trịnh

I immediately thought abt them when I listened to the song so I just had to ykyk. It’s just so fittingly cute how Gojyo had a “bad boy” persona and Hakkai has a “good boy” persona while we all know it’s the opposite— Also I can totally picture Gojyo feeling insecure abt himself (he does) especially when Kanan steps into the picture, knowing Hakkai is still very much crazy abt his sister in this AU (not romantically tho sorry y’all)

And a fun fact, “left” in Vietnamese also means “wrong” as opposed to “right” 😳 fitting for the joke “I turned left cuz you didn’t treat me right” lol—
