How do you study for the sat?like what resources do you use and which methods to prepare do you think work best??
hi there! i answered a similar question here but other than the official SAT blue book, i found Erica L. Meltzer’s guides to SAT writing and critical reading (they’re two separate books you can find on amazon) to be immensely helpful. as for study methods, doing practice tests seems to work for me because you get used to the format of the test and learn to anticipate what the question is asking/wants you to identify in a passage or sentence. to learn vocab, i try to learn 20 new words a day, so i’ll read through them at different points in the day to learn them, and then at the end of the day i’ll test myself (and make it cumulative so i don’t forget all the other words i previously learned).
Tell me everything ur doing over summer to prepare for All of ur ap classes please!
I’m not really doing anything to prepare. Both classes I’m taking (AP Statistics and AP Psychology) are either classes I’ve taken before (I took my schools’ non-AP course of Psychology last year) or contain material I’ve studied before (I took finite math this year, which contained a large unit on statistics).
I also don’t generally prepare for classes before they begin (outside of general things like buying supplies, doing assigned summer work, etc) because I prefer to engage with the material with a teacher or study buddy rather than independently, so I’m not really making an exception for my AP courses either. I mostly do that because my ADHD and hyperlexia make independent learning really difficult for me, so I prefer to have someone explain it to me before I do my own independent reading and studying.
