5th-level Illusion Casting Time: 1 hour Range: (1 mile, See text) Components: V S M (A Diamond(consumed in the process), A crystal ball or Silver Mirror(Worth 1000 or more gp).) Duration: 24 hours Classes: Bard, Cleric, Wizard

Description: You place the diamond to the mirror or crystal ball and magically charge it. for an hour after this you may cause illusory music, of your choice, plays within the 1 mile radius. you may create any illusory structures, images, or decorations, within this mile. After the hour the diamond shatters. For the next 24 hours, Finally images of the area appear in illusory mirrors or orbs summoned and scattered randomly around the plane where 100 or more humanoids are present within a one mile radius. For each illusion created this way a copy of that orb or mirror is created within the radius of the spell. While a creature is within a 1 mile radius of the orb they may spend one minute to focus on projecting an image of themselves to the area. For as long as a creature is projecting an image of themselves they are considered unconscious and restrained, they are also immune to all forms of damage while projecting this image. A creature who is projecting their image has all the senses of their projection. These images are immune to damage, cannot be dispelled, and cannot cast spells or deal damage, or leave the specified area. A creature may dispel this of their own will at any time as a free action returning to their body. Creatures within the area understand all languages but may only speak their known languages. After 24 hours the spell ends gently returning everybody to their bodies. Once everybody is returned the illusions rocket into the sky exploding into a thunderous boom of magical energy and a rain of sparkles.

I’ve been playing nethack more recently and I died to a paper golem on one run and I started thinking about why anyone would make a paper construct and all I could think of is a wizard that needs a minion to collect knowledge for them. So I combined that with a pun about book worms and the book wyrm was born

Hi all, here with a spell that a DM friend of mine (u/The_Captain1998 on Reddit) sent me to "make it pretty". We talked a lot about the design of the spell and we refined it a lot to create the spell you see before you now. It's a homebrew from his game, wherein a powerful fey spirit called Byakko went berserk and the PCs had to defeat him to calm him down. As a reward, the sorcerer PC was granted the use of this unique, legendary spell.

This spell was, as some might recognise, inspired heavily by Final Fantasy XIV. That DM friend of mine loves to put references to his favourite games in his campaigns, and I must admit I do too sometimes. What video game references have your DMs put in campaigns you've been in? Call Byakko's Tempest

5th-level evocation

Casting Time: 1 action

Range: 100 feet

Components: V, S, M (a pinch of tiger fur)

Duration: 1 minute, concentration

You turn the clouds above you black and create a tornado within range. You must be outdoors to cast this spell. Moving to a place where you don’t have a clear path to the sky ends the spell early.

The tornado fills a 5 foot cube. When you first cast this spell, you can choose to create the tornado in a creature or object's space. If the creature is Large or smaller, it must make a Strength saving throw. On a successful save, it is pushed 30 feet in a random direction. On a failed save, it is picked up and thrown: it is pushed 30 feet in a random direction and knocked prone, taking 4d4 bludgeoning damage. If the creature succeeds on the save by more than 5, it can choose the direction it is pushed by the tornado. A Large or smaller object fails the saving throw automatically. If the creature or object collides with an obstacle (such as another creature or a wall) during its movement, both it and the obstacle take 1d4 bludgeoning damage if it is Tiny, 2d4 if it is Medium, and 3d4 if it is Large.

As a bonus action you can move the tornado up to 15 feet to an unoccupied space you can see. Creatures and objects cannot move through the tornado's area.

When a creature moves within 10 feet of the tornado for the first time on a turn or starts its turn there, it is buffeted by wind and debris and must succeed on a Dexterity saving throw or take 6d6 slashing damage, or half as much damage on a successful save. Objects automatically fail this saving throw.

After the spell ends, the tornado remains for 1d4 rounds and moves in a random direction at the start of your turn before dissipating. It moves up to 15 feet, ending movement when it collides with an obstacle.

At Higher Levels: When you cast this spell with a spell slot of 6th level or higher, creatures and objects take an extra 1d4 bludgeoning damage if thrown by the tornado and an extra 1d6 slashing damage from the tornado's debris for each slot above 5th.
