I still hate the sentiment from last year of “you just gotta do it” because I feel like it’s unhelpful and diminutive. But I also don’t have a choice. I have to figure out how to HIIT during internship because I’m in 2 weddings next year. I cannot afford to hate myself this deeply in every picture because I won’t make it through them. Also gonna get back into strength training because gains aren’t something you see when you’re inconsistent. That’s the big thing. I can’t afford to be inconsistent anymore.
Saturday: (Challenge) Do something that makes you feel happy and tell us all about it! Whether it’s treating yourself, going for a run, or doing something for your family, make yourself happy today.
Saturday was Christmas Eve and I made my boyfriend’s mom and sister’s presents. They were body scrubs which are actually super easy to make. Noted if I’d like them for the future.

Monday: (Question/Reflection) What is one thing you did or learned during the 61DTG2015 challenge that you will carry forward into 2016?
Lemme drop last year’s answer real quick: “I think I learned that stress has really taken over my life in ways I didn’t even imagine it would a year ago and I need to figure out how to manage it to be able to make it through next semester and get back into a workout routine I can manage.“ This ended up continuing to be incredibly accurate, actually painfully so this semester. I’ve realized that stress is what creates inconsistency for me and I can’t let that takeover happen.

Lol I had to go back to 2014 because either 2015′s ended already or I missed some tags. My milestone is always persistence. I knew I was behind. Doesn’t mean I was going to leave it that way :)

I need to revisit that 61DTG day from last year though because...
“I uh… kinda had a break down that was pretty hard on Wednesday. My mom is trying to be helpful with the whole self image.. hatred… thing… but in doing so is making it way worse. Twice this year she forced me to go clothes shopping, pick out a bunch of stuff, try it on, and then buy it. Something that seems so damn simple actually manages to combine 3 hates: 1. imagining myself in new clothes I feel like I don’t deserve; 2. trying on clothes in this body that I hate and then am forced to look at and evaluate; and 3. having to actually buy myself clothing that I again feel like I shouldn’t be buying myself. I had a complete meltdown when we got home and I could finally lock myself away. I know she’s trying to help by making sure I literally HAVE SHIT TO WEAR… but I don’t think this is what exposure therapy is supposed to feel like.So after that tangent… I failed at this horribly and had a low point of feeling like giving up entirely because I feel like I’m just a failure at this.“
HOW DID THIS LITERALLY JUST HAPPEN NOT EVEN A WEEK AGO AND ALSO EXACTLY A YEAR AGO?!?!
ugh. i didn’t have the complete meltdown this time, which i guess is progress? but i still ended up crying as we drove away, wanting nothing more than to turn around and return everything.

Week was all the same sort of stuff, but at least constantly doing stuff.
Thursday: (Activity) What is something new, but not fitness related you would like to try in the new year? Make a plan for how you will tackle this new task!
I’m going to be pretty stuffed full of new things during my internship tbh
Friday: (Question/Reflection) How adventurous are you? Whether you are always up for new things or terrified to try, why do you think you are that way? What holds you back or moves you forward?
Last year’s answer holds VERY true: I think that I’m cautiously adventurous. What I mean by that is that I’m willing to try new things provided I have a good idea of what I’m getting myself into first. I just like knowing before going, I dunno lol

Week 7 Workouts
Week 6 got skipped entirely, thanks finals week!
December 12 - worked out twice! Salsa dancing cardio in the early afternoon for 30 minutes and then a bit lower key son dancing at night for 30 more minutes!
December 13 - 30 minute VERY brisk walk around a lake. I really wanted to yoga at the end of the day, but didn’t do the thing. I’ll get on it though!
December 14 - 30 minute walk in place
December 16 - 30 minute walk in place
December 17 - 40 minute walk in place with some jamming out to the Hamilton Mixtape on the side
