Today marks the 65th anniversary of Burny Mattinson’s career at Disney Animation.  That’s an impressive number, made even more amazing by the fact that he now holds the record for being employed the longest at the Walt Disney Company!  He has been a huge influence on me over the years and I’m proud to call him a colleague and a friend (and sometimes give him a ride to work).  Cheers, Burny!

On this day 65 years ago, Sir Bobby Charlton CBE made his first team debut for Manchester United Football Club, 5 days before his birthday.This coming Monday, he will turn 84 years old. In a 17 year career at the club, Bobby played 758 games, scoring 249 goals. Along the way, he earned 3 Football League First Division Championships, 1 FA Cup, 4 Charity Shields, 3 FA Youth Cups, and a European Cup. And of course the 1966 FIFA World Cup with England. I got another one. I might not like this one (Godzilla vs Biollante) as much as the last one (Tokyo S.O.S.) and I might still be a little angry that his tail extension was extremely difficult to connect ( and I still don't think it's all the way attached) but it's still a pretty great figure. It's a smaller scale than the S.O.S., but has all of the articulations and is the more traditional design. I'm pretty sure that his tail isn't as long either although it has all the cool segments for all this Godzilla's tail swinging needs. He also comes with attachable fire extension that attaches solidly to the back of his mouth. And the packaging is just straight up beautiful. From the front illustration to the inside front photo with flower decoratively designed into the window frame. I love these figures so much. The rest in the set aren't ones I'm in a big hurry to get as they're either the most current design or they're painted up with strange electric patterns that I'm not sure how I feel about.
