Ward was actually feeling slightly less awful than normal today. Donny was finally starting to find his footing after Seven’s death and the usb the housed the computer simulacrum Seven made sat safely in Ward’s pocket. If Donny noticed it was missing he hadn’t said anything. Ward had done his best to cover his tracks after he retrieved it from Seven’s old cigar cabinet. He still wasn’t convinced anything would ever be ok again but he was trying to be there for Donny. He knew he definitely hadn’t in the past.
“Of course, I’ll get your boyfriend.” Ward said teasingly as he reached the door and opened it without hesitation.
Ward was barley able to process what unfolded in the few moments after he did. Cassius stood on the other side, his expression cold and determined, with his gun already drawn and aimed right at Ward’s head.
“Wha-“ Ward began to say, taking a half step back. Cassius did not hesitate either. A bullet tore through Wards head. Ward could barely feel the pain, could barely register anything as he fell back, hitting the floor hard.
Cassius stepped through the threshold closing the door behind him. He only gave a sparing glance to Ward to make sure he wouldn’t survive. There was no use wasting another bullet on him. He was an unfortunate obstacle. He kept his gun and his gaze fixed upon Donny. “Veni, vidi, vici”
