$308 MILLION LIVE GROSS: No industry executive has had a more protean relationship to power than Irving Azoff, 71, who has morphed from manager to label boss to Live Nation chairman and back to manager. “I keep going back to [management] because that’s really the power source,” said Irving at the Billboard Live Summit last November. “The power all flows from artists.” He also noted that each of his transitions are made “with an endgame in sight.” Worth remembering when considering Irving’s $125 million December buyout of Madison Square Garden’s 50 percent interest in Azoff MSG Entertainment after the joint venture triggered a buy-sell option at the five-year mark.

The newly minted Azoff Company includes Full Stop Management, performance rights organization Global Music Rights, Oak View Group and LaneOne, a premium experience company. The past year saw Azoff Company co-president Susan Genco play a key role in the Music Modernization Act, brokering a last-minute deal among SiriusXM, Universal Music Group, Sony Music Entertainment and Warner Music Group. And Full Stop -- which combined the management clients of Irving, his son Jeffrey and Brandon Creed in 2017 -- had four of the top 20 tours in Billboard’s year-end ranking: the Eagles, Harry Styles, Journey (in partnership with John Baruck) and John Mayer with Dead & Co. (in partnership with Steve Moir and Bernie Cahill), for a combined gross of $308 million.

The Full Stop crew of more than 30 is led by Jeffrey, who is careful to credit a team of “superstar managers.” He is 33 but jokes that his experience in the industry goes back 22 years: “When the guy who coaches your soccer games is always on the phone making deals in the music business, you have the ability at a young age to sound like you know what you’re talking about, even if you might not.” Both Azoffs refer to this moment in the industry as one of constant, positive disruption. “If you’re anyone with an idea and some talent, whether you’re an artist or you’re in the business, you can have a successful career in the music business,” says Jeffrey, who disagrees that he belongs as high as his father on the list. “We have artists who are using direct distribution who are supporting their own careers. The sustainability for both artists and executives is amazing.”

When i first met Crush (my turtle spirit guide) he told me that he was hear to teach me and support me, but to also kick my ass. 

The last couple of months with him have been a blast, and he is a really fun personality to be around. But man, this month he has really been making good on the whole kicking my ass thing. There was one incident and he actually kind of got terrifying, and he’s been just constantly directing me and molding me. It’s very interesting, actually.

This is something that i haven’t quite had a change to experience with spirit work yet. But i’m actually grateful that Crush is doing this. I know that he has good intentions (and i can also see the end result of it all) but also, it’s kind of an affirmation that he is indeed a spirit and not some apparition of my mind or more importantly a malicious entity.

I’ve seen posts going around about it before, but i think it’s important that your spirits disagree with you, or they turn down a session and want to be alone, or they get mad at you. A real-life relationship wouldn’t be all smiles and nods, and they wouldn’t be 100% hanging on your words and whims; it’s dynamic, and you interact and grow together.

It’s the same thing with spirits. Yes, they are spirits, and are not on the same physical plane as us, but at the same time they are also real entities, and they should be treated as such, and not some kind of shiny object or secondary character.

Just some thoughts that i’ve been having.

Anyways, i’ve been doing... aight, lately. 

Actually, this is kind of funny. I’ve always been on the fence about astrology, more specifically about the affect of planets and heavenly bodies on our lives. But this recent retrograde has been fuckkiingngg meee uppp and at this point I don’t think i can doubt it anymore, haha.

But yeah, so the retrograde and my energy has been feeling... weird, lately. Like, i feel like with my qigong i might have too much energy?? But technically that shouldn’t be possible, but I think instead maybe my body just isn’t used to having that amount of energy. Anyways, i think that it will all be resolved once the retrograde goes away.

I think one thing that should be shared about my experience with Hollow Knight is that I was under the impression that the Brooding Mawlek in the Crossroads that gives you a mask shard was the first boss, and after probably a few dozen attempts I beat it before I even knew about the Gruz Mother that is the actual first boss.

Anyone know a dog park in California that has a lake or pool? I live in San Diego but honestly I’d travel a lot so my dog can get a good swim. I’ve taken him to the Ocean Beach Dog Beach before but he doesn’t seem to like the waves. Suggestions?
