The times where Cas spends times with the winchesters doing mundane things are so precious. Like when he shows up in 8.07 and sits in the motel and just watches TV while they do research. Or how the next episode opens with him on a road trip with them, leaning against the car with a newspaper. ;_;

Ik Naomi ordered him to be there in 8.08, but in 8.07, watching TV is a particular choice of activity. It invokes memories of 6.10, when Cas was busy with the angel civil war, but chose to sit in the same motel with the winchesters, and said, “Much of the time, I’d rather be here.”
