I dawned on me today that I could be living in Asia before my 24th birthday.
I told both my parents tonight that I was looking into Taiwan and South Korea now. My mom didn’t freak out. She said, “I shouldn’t be surprised. I raised a dreamer.” So that was nice.
God, to think about turning 24 in a foreign country.... It’s unbelievable. I never really considered what it would be like to be 23, and now this. My last three birthdays have all taken place in different states, so this would be carrying on with a trend. But still....
I was also thinking about the fact that my boyfriend is going to be an ocean away by next week and how awesome it’s going to be for him when he gets to South Korea. All the city lights and people. Korean words plastered on everything. My heart started to swell similarly to that time I cried with joy on my first New York City subway ride. I’m so proud of him.
Dear San Francisco Giants,
If you could like, end this game, that would be great. I need to go to bed, but I’m way too invested in this game to even think about falling asleep. So if y’all could just score some runs, that’d be 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼.
Sincerely,
An East Coast Braves Fan
I had my call this morning with an ITA Job Guidance Counselor and have a few leads regarding Asian countries to teach in. I felt like I was all over the place, but I managed to find a direction.
There’s the HESS program in Taiwan and the TALK program in South Korea. I’m leaning towards the TALK program because it looks like I can study and work at the same time, which is ideally what I’m looking for. But I would need to get a recruiter to help with that. HESS has affiliations with ITA, so I may be put at the head of the line, as it were, for job placement.
My concern at this point is finding out how to get a hold of my degree and what exactly my degree is. I know this is stupid. I should already know all of this information. But college was hell and BRCC is incompetent as fuck. I was just happy to get out of there. So now I need to find out if my welding school gave me an associate’s or whatever the fuck. I’ve found the contact and left a message for them. I’m just hoping I get a call back soon and don’t have to hunt them down. If I was still in Baton Rouge, I’d just go to the campus and bust down doors until something happens.
Also on the to-do list is getting my birth certificate once I get paid and shell out the $60 for that so that I can then turn around and get my license changed to WY and then get my passport. The goal is to have all of those documents in order by the end of September.
Additionally, I need to start calling schools to find a place to complete my practicum. Being in Wyoming, I don’t exactly have many options. But there may be a place in Cody, and I can almost definitely go to Montana State University.
And I still have a paper to write.
Jacob deGrom once again being forced to provide his own run support is kinda feeling like a half joking middle finger to the rest of the Mets lineup 😂😂
I’ve submitted half of my weekly peer-discussion answers, finished my reading, taken my quiz, and now I have to write this paper. I’m waiting for more responses in the second peer discussion before submitting my response. This paper will be easy. I just need to get over my hang up and write it. I was hoping to start this morning, but I got caught up with researching HESS and TALK and now only have an hour before work. I also haven’t eaten yet, so I should do that.
I just had dejavu when working on a course assignment. I feel like I had a dream about taking an online course and “remember” laughing about how ridiculous it was.
