What I took away from this race weekend is that Max was too friendly with Oscar, but I can't say the same about his relationship with Lando.

The Maxcar is born stronger than ever.

The Norstappen is definitely dead, and I see no way out.

That "not Oscar" will haunt me for a long time.

been really into this new trope i made up: we accidentally turned our friendship into a soft dom/sub dynamic

max seeks oscar out after a hard race. says rude things, acts out. waits for oscar's eyes to harden and his hand to grab the back of his neck. "be quiet and sit down or leave."

he keeps close to oscar when they're out together, he knows oscar prefers it. they both do. and he doesn't make oscar repeat himself when he's had a hard day.

oscar watches for max getting overwhelmed and tries to pull him away as discreetly as possible. grip tight on max's arms, waist, neck, wherever he's grabbing. gives him something to do instead if he needs it.

sometimes max wants to sit close and go quiet, and oscar makes sure he still eats and drinks and feels alright the whole time. makes sure to keep a hand on him or be explicit when he needs to leave max for some reason.

oscar finally asks max out because he can't find any platonic excuses to bite the guy.
