Clearing out my camera roll 8935/?
It's one of those days where I learn a little bit more about neurodiversity and ASD and I'm like, based on the stories I hear from other people, I can't possibly be autistic. But then literally the second half of the week, someone else will share their story and I'll be like, this explains LITERALLY every struggle I have. The obvious solution isn't available to me -- you can't get diagnosed without a parent or even teacher or adult to attest for your childhood behaviours so I can't get formally diagnosed, so that's not an option. Either way, label aside, I think what's important is a) not to take away from the community and take up space when it's inappropriate and b) think functionally. Why is it helpful to hear these stories? Do I need permission to implement some of these accommodations on my own? If they help, they help. If I can solve it, I'll solve it. Named or not, "autistic features" as secondary to whatever else professionals think it is, I know what I struggle with and I'm focussing on fixing that or asking for change, and that's what I can focus on.
At least 10 your choice for GIDEON))
