OMFG GUYS WE NEED TO STOP MISUSING THE TERM "LOST MEDIA" BECAUSE MOST OF THE SHIT THAT WE CALL "LOST MEDIA" ISN'T FUCKING LOST!!!!! 😭💔
Lost media, according to Wikipedia is quote "media thought to no longer exist in any format, or for which no copies can be located, partially or otherwise" - this could be due to the company who owns the peice of media/the fandom of that media poorly preserving it, the media needing a proprietary source for it to run, like a server or software like Adobe flash, no longer existing because it got discontinued, the master copies (in other words the original copies the media is sourced from) getting deleted/destroyed, the film tapes for something like a movie or TV show not surviving due to storage conditions etc.
For example, most old silent movies like London after Midnight are considered lost media, due to them being both poorly archived aside from a few photo stills as well as the only known master copies of them being destroyed in a vault fire and film tapes back then being more flammable than they are nowadays HOWEVER there is a chance that it can be recovered in the future if a copy is recovered/restored if its in good enough condition - we've seen that happen before with stuff like most of the pre 80s Dr who and the extended cut of the German Sci fi movie metropolis
Just because something like a streaming original is taken of the service in question and is no longer available doesn't automatically mean it's "lost media". Personally, if a peice of media is fully archived but just not accessible to the masses legally through methods like streaming or dvd, I feel it falls under a category I like to call "inacessible media"
For example, 2 of the more bigger examples of "inacessible media" are Netflix original shows like glitter force, the western dubs for the precure seasons smile precure and doki doki precure, and dreamworks original shows like the cartoon based on the movie home (which unrelated but the book home was based on, the true meaning of smeckday, and the media that came out of it are like 2 VASTLY different things tone and theming wise holy shit 😭) both of these shows are fully preserved but just aren't accessible legally, with the only ways of watching them being through unofficial means, this could be stuff like bootleg/out of print dvds, rips of the shows dumped onto video sharing sites like YouTube/vimeo or going on piracy sites like the pirate bay - HOWEVER if say, a language specific dub of one of the shows, like say the French dub of glitter force (IDK if glitter force had a French dub please don't @ me about this 😭) is only partially available or the side content like promotional websites/apps are down due to it needing software like flash or the apk files no longer exist online then yes that would be lost media, but if the original version of the show isn't lost then it's just inacessible
(IDK to end this soooooo here's some images/video of this cool ass steam train I came across down by one of my regular pub once, most of my moots are autistic so they'll probably love this, I'm autistic too dw, shout out to my moots @fritobandito3 and @aqwertyjjw-1208 yall rock ok byeeeee 😍✌️)

Now.
On one hand I could make a version of Mystwork Heart without the trains.
Make a game where you’re just playing reality warping sinners. Would be easier.
But like.
Im autistic.
I wanna make it train focused.
So I’m gonna kick myself in my nuts getting the trains mechanics done instead, out of spite for sensibility.
I want trains. No one would play a train heist with me. So I’m making a whole TTRPG based around trains. And there’s lore reasons why it makes sense.
Ha!
Anyways yeah.
lol
The crazy thing about getting to hear a steam engine's whistle in person for the first time is that at first, you have no fucking clue what that is. It's just a deep howling noise that's echoing in the distance.
And then there's this deep breathing sound to accompany it that's slowly getting louder and louder as it gets closer. You look towards where the sound is coming from and you see a glowing light coming round a bend in the distance, surrounded by a big black thing that your eyes haven't fully processed yet.
You hear that howl again, and now that it's closer you know what's coming. It's a train. A big one. The biggest goddamn train you've ever seen in your life. It just rolls on by like it owns the place, five diesels and sixteen coaches gliding behind it. It's belching smoke and steam like a dragon breathing out.
And right as it passes where you're sitting. It whistles. When you're right there, it's this massive, booming, bellow that leaves your ears ringing. You could never be prepared to hear it up close for the first time. However loud you think it is from watching news reports or YouTube videos? It's louder. You watch it trail away and realize that its presence left you shaking.
Anyway, I got to see 4014 today. I can die happy.
Trying to draw stream trains for one bother in laws up and coming birthday (with a few Pikmin looking on in amazement)
Both bother in laws like Pokemon but only one of them likes steam trains
