WEEK 4 @ 8LAYER

This week, our tasks revolved around PeerConnects. We were tasked to take a part in the completion of its website. Most of the things that I did is the creation of pages, the content organization, and installing plugins which are needed to create forms and its corresponding database. In addition, I experienced layouting an ebrochure which I never did before that’s why I find it hard but fun.

This week, I learned a lot of things. I learned basic php which was never thought in our school. I also learned more about the codes and syntax that are available in CSS that can make the appearance of the content better. I am also continuing my study about python programming language and jquery whenever I have free time. In addition, I also learned from observing the people around me that a developer cannot give everything that a client wants.

All the things that I have learned this week will surely help me to grow and I am sure that I can use them in the new future.

Shadow program; Day 1

I was assigned to Ma’am Michelle. I learned a lot of things from her today. She thought me on how to make business calls and how to properly communicate with other people whom I never met before. I cannot deny that  i was nervous at first because it was my first time to do that thing. I won’t also deny that it was hard to be persistent to call each people continuously and repetitively  but i have to do it because it was the assigned task to me.

I realized that it is not easy to have a work like that. I know, nothing comes easy in the corporate world, we must have to work smart. I learned that we have to have a lot of patience in dealing and communicating with several people in order for an event to be successful.

I am thankful for 8layer for giving us, the interns, the opportunity to experience this program that will help us to know where we would like to be in the future.
