Week  3 @ 8layer

This week, I was permanently assigned in the Whoot department or the creatives department which is headed by Ma’am Katrina Taule. 

Ma’am Tau introduced to us the Manila Cathedral’s website which will be our project. I, together with Alecxis, were assigned,to do the revisions of the said website using Wordpress, HTML, and CSS.  We edited the website for the whole week and we are close to completing it according to the new web layout requirements that was sent to us. In addition, I was also tasked to make a design of brochure for PeerConnects website.

This week, I learned more about using Wordpress and the developer tool found in web browsers. It was fun because  I learned new things that will be helpful to me as I grow older in the field of Computer studies.

Shadow program; Day 1

I was assigned to Ma’am Michelle. I learned a lot of things from her today. She thought me on how to make business calls and how to properly communicate with other people whom I never met before. I cannot deny that  i was nervous at first because it was my first time to do that thing. I won’t also deny that it was hard to be persistent to call each people continuously and repetitively  but i have to do it because it was the assigned task to me.

I realized that it is not easy to have a work like that. I know, nothing comes easy in the corporate world, we must have to work smart. I learned that we have to have a lot of patience in dealing and communicating with several people in order for an event to be successful.

I am thankful for 8layer for giving us, the interns, the opportunity to experience this program that will help us to know where we would like to be in the future.

1st week in 8LAYER!

It started on June 8, 2015, the first day of my ojt. It was exciting that I was tasked to explore wordpress which is kind of new to me. I was able to interact with a lot of people. The following days, i was tasked to do research and documentation which helped me to be familiar with the new terms that i encountered.

My trip to Sto. Tomas Batangas was memorable. I was able to get to know more about Ma’am Rosa and Sir Nick. I was exposed to a different environment which lead me to experience new things.

During this week, 8layer helped me to reach out to people. They enabled me to meet new opportunities and people which is an advantage for me and I am very thankful to them.
