Oooooooooh!!!!!
So much!!!! There's sooooo much!!!
What is it with Blacklist episodes these days? Halfway through the episode and I'm wondering what I'm going to say for a review because there isn't much to get my attention. But by the end!!
Look at what we got! I got all kinds of things I've been wanting!!
An update on Park. It's not a terribly interesting update, but it's something. She tried taking a step in a direction I've been wanting her to go towards for a long time. She needs to stand out on the task force more and this would give it to her. But alas.... At least we got an update on her situation.
Red and Dembe! I've been begging for an update on the status of their relationship. Boy did we get one! And I'm quite happy with what we got. It is what it should be. For now. Lots of room to move in all kinds of directions here.
Heddy!! I am both surprised and not surprised. I've always felt like there was something there. The way it played out with Hedy was both predictable and yet at the same time had me on the edge of my seat for a bit. But I don't mind something being predictable, if it's well played, and it definitely was.
And then the finale. Predictable, well played, and oh so satisfying. The way Red's voice changed when talking about Elizabeth. The things said by the person he was talking to. It all fit so well. I mean there's no real surprise here, you could see it coming a mile away, but that in no way takes away from the satisfaction of it for me. I don't need shock and surprise to be entertained.
My one disappointment is that it was somewhat less of a mystery solved then it should have been. They kind of let Red hold ye- olde idiot ball this season. But we got there.
This was such a big episode in the end. It's weird to even mention that there were a bunch of standout interrogations in this episode. The lawyers had me laughing my ass off. Has there ever been an interrogation like that on the show??
The next two episodes are going to be crazy. I can't wait. It's sad that I'm actually rooting for a tragedy, but not every character should stick around long-term.
I'm so excited for the next two episodes, that it is temporarily pushing away the impending, prolonged disappointment of hiatus. I've been feeling it for a few weeks now, thinking that we only have a few more episodes until that long dark time of waiting. Oh well, once more into the breach!!
