Not until I survived the attacks of September 11 did I realize the importance of mindfulness and the power of yoga. Coming from a family of veterans I have seen the devastating effects of PTSD, and as my own symptoms occur from time to time it seems more crucial than ever to share the gift of yoga to humanity. Upon becoming a yoga teacher in 2015 I wanted to find an organization that brought inner healing to our veterans and continued support through counseling, meditation and other methods of healthy renewal.
