leap day (2020) is a great show because the baiyueguang character is an antisocial bitchy awkward chainsmoking philosophy doctorate who's the absentee president of his friends' science/conspiracy theory club they're holding him at emotional gunpoint to be a part of. and none of this is in a cute way for at least the first half of the show. he genuinely kind of sucks and i think he's great. and then the last 20% or so of his screentime kicks in and you're left having a rapid spiral of Oh moments until the show ends and you land in a heap of absolute despair

... and then the sequel to leap day shows you a different version of the same guy who actually looks like a baiyueguang should, but the effect lasts about 30 seconds before it's revealed that he's somehow even more insufferable on average than the original guy. 10/10, no notes
