If you Get Lost, You Can Always be Found
“Someone should be here soon. We were supposed to meet up with them half a day ago.” Lan Sizhui was keeping an eye on the talismans they’d used to seal the entrance of the cave they’d taken refuge in to make sure they didn’t start failing. The little cave they had barricaded themselves into could barely even be called a cave. It was mostly just a slight dip in the rockface of the hill they had been investigating that happened to be surrounded by the gnarled roots of a half fallen tree.
The roots made a good set of walls so far, which was good since there were at least a dozen hungry ghosts trying to claw their way in from outside. It still felt less than secure since the cold wind was blowing through the gaps and occasionally a moan from the outside sounded like it was right beside them. The last time that had happened Jin Ling had crawled over Sizhui’s legs to the other side which meant he’d pushed Ouyang Zizhen into Lan Jingyi causing both of them to complain.
“I wish they’d stop following us all the time.” Jin Ling was perilously close to sulking but since that was actually pretty normal for him Sizhui was ignoring him to keep him from getting on a rant. Jingyi, unfortunately, wasn’t very good at ignoring Jin Ling.
