Abigail and the eight other maidens that died before her, ft. The Sword and a white iPod mini
Abigail contemplates the blade and its terrible implications...
Magda is a human who came to the underworld towards the end of her life. She's many things to many people: a fortune teller, a friend, a source of counsel, a lover - but to Martin she's his landlord, and to Abigail she's her confidante.
She does a great job at keeping Martin from finding Abigail too quickly - whether or not that's a good thing remains to be seen lmao
Abigail CAN leave her ivory tower whenever she wants, but it's far harder to escape the Underworld proper. She likes to slink through the streets unknown and undetected - chasing after an illusion of freedom she doesn't have
Bro looks like he's about to handle another problem right before closing...we've all been there
Martin trying to ease his aches and pains in a seedy Underworld bar, to little success
Even the hair hangs heavy. When your entire life involves being made into a symbol, how do you choose to identify yourself? Abigail struggling with her role as the Ninth Maiden is the catalyst for the story I'm trying to tell.

Martin and the inescapable weight of a prophecy.
After watching 8 other Maidens being sacrificed to the Dragon, Abigail took to her new role as the Ninth Maiden with great reluctance. By covering her face and leaving her golden hair uncovered, she remains identifiable but the Dragon can't use her face as branding. Her ever-changing wardrobe reflects how much of the Dragon's wealth she's squandered.
