9th august International Day of Indigenous Peoples
So... I been collaborating on an Instagram art group named @div.ulgarte. We are a small mexican art students, and all this week we been making content about a Mexican Female Photographer Graciela Iturbide, who always work with indigenous people, and I make a tribute of one of her most famous photos, “Our Lady of the Iguanas” ("Nuestra Señora de las Iguanas") from Juchitán Mex.
More info from the photo.
“Our Lady of the Iguanas", Juchitán México 1979, series of photographs; these portray a woman from Juchitán called Zobeida Díaz, who that day was selling iguanas to make stew or to fill tamales, as is customary in Juchitán, within the market.
Graciela says that Zobeida was a very hard-working woman who sold every product that she could get in order to support her family.
Zobeida is an icon of the empowered and strong woman, who, without fear of raising her family afloat, carried live animals on her head.
The Shining, I didn’t find it to be conventionally scary at first reflection because it had very few sudden appearances of scary objects, but later found myself thinking about the plot and the acting long after watching it. An interesting fact I learnt about the movie was that the most famous scenes including the twins, tricycle, the maze, the blood wave and “ here’s Johnny” didn’t actually exist in the book. Also, King was supposedly unhappy with Jack’s inapparent character arc in the movie which was better described in the book.
Welcome, dear readers!Let’s explore the sky to see what awaits each of us as we step into the fresh day of Friday, the 9th day of August in the year 2024. So, sit back, relax and bring your favorite tea cup, it’s time for your horoscope.
