"Blood Over: Nobody Lives" is a 2-D sidescrolling beat em up developed by the now defunct 9thNight. Initially, the game appears very similar in style and gameplay to Devil May cry, as it features a combo craving demon hunter wielding a pair of dual pistols. With just a few minutes of play, however, it manages to distinguish itself.

The core of the gameplay is fairly simple: the pistols are used for fast, ranged attacks, and your kicks are powerful, close attacks. As you explore these two basic facets, you'll notice two more things: it's very easy to destroy the enemies, and damn you can move fast. The rather acrobatic nature of Blood Over's protagonist lends a great deal to the depth of the combat, and also plays into the game's greatest challenge.

At the end of the stage, you're awarded a rank based on your "Overkill." Overkill is a combo meter that gauges how many times you've attacked an enemy past death. The more enemies you overkill, the higher the number goes, and it's necessary to keep a consistent chain going to stop the meter from starting over. This, coupled with your acrobatic movement and some Street Fighter-esque power attacks, ensure the game is thoroughly addicting and engaging.
