What a little cutie A9 Hiroto is 😍❤
A silver parachute drifts slowly to the ground. A medium box is attached with a note from Drake Thornley. Inside is a large meal and pack of trail mix. The note reads: “If you sense danger, run.”
It was difficult to believe that she was alone again. She hated it. She hated the silence, the uncertainty, the possibility that, with every step you take, someone might stab you in the back mortally. She didn’t know whether something happened to Juno or she just plainly left her behind and she didn’t want to think about any of those options, preferring to go back to the time she didn’t even know her.
Now that Juliet found herself alone with her thoughts again, she knew she had no chance of sleeping. She couldn’t even close her eyes without someone by her side. Instead, she kept walking in an energetic manner, as if trouble couldn’t keep up if she moved enough. Not knowing where her steps would take her, or whether she was getting closer to where the dangerous tributes were expecting weak, unprepared tributes like her, she had no certainty, nothing to guide her. Most definitely, this was a terrible time to cry, but tears finally flooded her.
For the first time since she got thrown into the arena, she had time to cry. And the tears slid over her cheeks warmly. She cried of loneliness, of hunger, of fear of being killed and never making it back home. She let go of all the tears she’s been withdrawing ever since her entry into the Capitol. It was embarrassing, but there was nothing she could do. She kept walking and crying, trying to make no noise and struggling immensely swallowing the sobs. This was no time for being found and murdered. She just wanted to be alone and cry it out now.
But that was before a beep in the dark caught her attention. Looking up, she noticed one of those beautiful silver parachutes. Juliet’s eyes lit up, even filled with tears. She stopped into place and held her arms up to reach for the box. In no time, it was in her arms, and Juliet couldn’t wait to open it.
Still, she was courteous enough to read the note first. She nodded firmly, taking her mentor’s advice more and more seriously, as if it were an order by now. Then, the note was pocketed and all her attention was on the box. With a gesture that reeked of desperation, she opened the lid. With liquid eyes again, this time touched by the gift, Juliet looked left and right before dragging the box somewhere safer.
There was nowhere to hide. Juliet made peace with that thought, which would have normally made her run immediately. Hunger was stronger than the fear of dying, apparently. She took a seat on the cold ground and began with the trail mix, holding the box into a hug to get warmer. The meal looked better and smelled delicious, but it was in her nature to begin with the less tasty food and tame her hunger that way.
As she was chewing, the Capitol anthem and holograms filled the sky. Although it was the fourth day of the arena, it was the first time Juliet saw the sky clearly enough to actually see the faces. The girl from the Capitol.
And Star Wheatgrass.
Juliet suddenly could not swallow anymore. Looking up at the sky with her cheeks pale from the shock, she understood for the first time what death in the Hunger Games meant. But, in some selfish way, she no longer felt so alone, now that she guessed Star would keep her promise and be a ghost in her proximity. Shy and unsure if she should do it at all, she waved in a random direction. “I hope you’re in a better place now, friend,” she whispered softly, almost inaudibly and stood there, just thinking, for an hour.
A 9,000 year old skeleton was recently found inside a cave in Cheddar, England, and was nicknamed “Cheddar Man”. His DNA was tested and it was concluded that a living relative was teaching history about a 1/2 mile away, tracing back nearly 300 generations. - See more viral images on ViralTiger.org
