HEY HERE'S SOME COOL NEWS!! Recently I started a Patreon page for aVoid!
Patreon is basically a website that allows you to support artists and their projects, kinda like Kickstarter, except instead of donating once and only getting something cool in return once, you kind of donate consistently and get that cool thing (or things) every time you continue to donate, and typically that money is put in to bringing you better quality stuff later down the line.
I explained a lot of how it works over on the website in a NIFTY VIDEO WITH MY FACE, I recommend watching it if only because I am real cute.
The long-and-short of it in concern to me, is that I want to update aVoid at least once a week every week. So, whatever amount you choose you want to donate, you'd be doing that per week I kept to that promise of updating.
The cool thing about Patreon is that it kind of allows me the ability to interact with you guys more than I already do, concerning my projects and their content (it also mmmmmight help me pay my bills... like a lot.). Depending on what tier you choose as a donation, you can get a lot of special privileges in return as a thank you each week I keep to my promise of updating aVoid, and for pretty cheap too.
A brief example of some of the options (with the rest listed at the bottom of the Patreon page) are:
$1 : Comic updates a whole day early
$3 : Day-early updates and surprise bonus art no one else gets to see but you
$5 : Early updates, surprise art, and access to art streams that only people choosing to donate this much will get notified of (through Patreon)
You get the idea. Eventually there will be other rewards added when some of the limited ones (creating a character for in the comic, for example) run out, to kind of help keep things interesting.
The whole idea of doing this is to hopefully be able to give more high quality stuff back, seeing as I can't with how things currently are for me unless I have a little help. The first milestone's already been reached, so I can afford to give aVoid it's own hosting site, which'll give me a lot more control with the comic and what I can do in future updates, and that's rad! With any luck we can hit the rest of them, too.
Let me make it clear that this isn't going to change much of anything for the worse, I won't stop doing open livestreams or anything like that for people who choose to not- or can not- donate. This is just a way for you to offer support in my direction, if you can and want, that earns you something a little specially neat for doing it and goes straight back in to funding future projects meant for you.
Whether you donate or not is totally your decision, but it helps me out a lot and I really appreciate it if you do.
