hi hi! first of all, i love both IFs you made but I haven't checked in either for a while, so I was surprised to see you wanting to rewrite Golden since I thought the original is so good!
But what prompted the rewrite? :)) I'm just very curious...Also feed me some A Dempsey spoilers if possible 🥺 they're the reason I suddenly wanted to re read this story
Hello! This post will explain the reasons for the rewrite.
As for A facts/spoilers:
A’s a bounty hunter in the rewrite.
They fell into the role of being a hunter by accident.
Lover of coffee and cheesecake.
A disliking the MC comes from the fact that they feel the MC only has their job because of their rich status. The Everbrook prides itself on being an organisation for the community — rich kids don’t exactly fit that.
When they’re truly in two minds about something, A flips a coin to make their decision.
Never leaves the house without a hairtie.
(In a relationship) A asked P to sketch their favourite picture of MC, and they keep it in their wallet.
Because of callouses, one of A’s biggest insecurities is their hands.
Pottery is the new activity they’ve gotten into, and they actually enjoy it.
'so do right people with wrong timing get a second chance?' for A please
❛ so do right people with wrong timing get a second chance? ❜
A’s a pacer. Always has been, always will be. Especially when they’re overthinking. Like now. Their brain whirling at a thousand miles per hour because their last hunting job was a failure.
A big failure.
It’s nighttime at The Everbrook.
The hallways are filled with skeletons, ghosts, whispers. The kinds of employees that don’t go home at a regular hour. And, right now, you’re part of that group.
Word of A Dempsey and Zeren Uso not bringing in a bounty is…something that’ll travel around the rumour mill in the morning. You know that.
So maybe that why your legs find your way going up to the fifth floor. And turning left to go down the hallway to the ‘forbidden’ Hunters Corner—the cliquey corner on the fifth floor that must only be visited by those with Hunters status. So the unofficial rule states.
Not that you care right now.
“Heard you had a tough night,” you murmur, your voice bouncing on the walls, mixing in with the shadows.
A doesn’t turn at the sound of your voice. They scoff. Annoyed. Restrained. Pissed off.
Their hands move to grip the hem of their black, form fitting shirt. “Yeah?” A asks. “People talk too much.”
The shirt does come off. It reveals a vest underneath. “Are you planning on staying?” A asks, not as sharply as you’d expect. “I have paperwork to do.”
Whenever you think you’ve made headway with A, the barrier is there. The line that’s never crossed. You’re not friends. Rivals, now, would be too strong a word. But…you’re something undefined.
“Don’t you want to talk about what happened?” you question, wandering deeper into the corner, standing in front of the demi-god/dess.
A looks at you with an arched brow. “When have you ever known me to be a talker?”
You feel the corners of your mouth twitch upwards. “I thought you were working on your character development.”
That perks A up. If only a little. It’s a wry grin that they try to hide.
“Sorry to disappoint.” A clears their throat before the silence can wash over you both. “I really do have to get this paperwork done.”
Your time’s up. You can tell. You can feel it.
You can’t catalogue this in one of your positive experiences with A. But it’s not negative either, and maybe that’s a win in itself.
You’ll get another chance. You’ll a wall or two of theirs down…at some point.
i created a whole new character specifically to romance B in Golden by @milaswriting today so i now have two main characters for this wonderful story! ✨ violet schuyler will be romancing asher and leonora reyes will be romancing blaire; i’m so excited to read both of their routes!
