he had promised luke that he’d watch over her, he promised him that she would be safe ; that he would let no harm come to her. he had promised luke to never reveal her location, to keep her hidden from those who may want to use her power... but he also promised luke that he’d never reveal her location to him. luke knew that eventually he’d go back for her, which would only put her back in danger... so anakin had sworn to him that her location would remain a secret — until the time was right.
at first, he would watch her from the shadows, not yet revealing himself to her. he watched her grow up on the desert planet, reminding him so much of himself — of the small boy who lived on tatooine, with nothing but his mother and dreams of a better future. but unlike anakin, who had his mothers shoulder to lean upon, the comfort of his mothers hold... she had no-one, not a single soul, she was alone.
and he just couldn’t help himself, he couldn’t bare witness to how lonely she was, how even though he was no longer living. he swore he could feel his heart ache. once she had returned from her day of scavenging, did he finally make himself known to her. stood behind her ; with arms crossed, a soft blue hue to him, presenting himself as the image of his former self.
❛ hello? ❜ he softly called out, not wanting to frighten her. a soft smile tugged at the corner of his lips and he brought his arms down to hang by his side. ❛ hope i didn’t scare ‘ya? ❜ a small chuckle came after his words, with a small step taken towards her.
