Jessica’s advice was always to take a break with your singing practice, never blow out your voice! Give your lungs a break, last you go hoarse! But, quoting a lovable child with notably dangerous curiosity: “I give very good advice, but I seldom follow it.”.

Jessica sung her heart out constantly, for six days straight when the old vocal cords decided to give out. A large performance it might have been; wonderful, loud, full of toons and humans going wild in the center of Las Vegas! But ooooh, was her throat suffering now, pulsing a bright red in the neck area at the base of the throat. All her preparing, all that watering and even with the twenty minute breaks, and her voice still went out. At least it wasn’t during a performance! That might have been the luck and determination of her own doing, though, pushing herself until it was time for the curtains to close. She did feel it coming, but that last performance needed all the belting she could muster.

Never let it be said this woman wasn’t dedicated to her career, though. When she went big, she wasn’t holding back an inch.

Jess had decided to stop by the Deputy’s station to pay him a visit(and a quiet donation; definitely more enough to take Ms. Kate out for a nice night on the town and then some!) with a bouquet of blue & white, but she ended up staying for a little over two hours - quietly chattering and sharing footage of the Vegas performances with the equally quiet lawcow. There was more than just her performance, of course, there were many other toons and even a few country singers who turned the entire place upside down. It was a sight to see, so naturally, she had to show him.

And then, he had to go and surprise her with this sweet little gesture. She smiled. She didn’t say anything, but she did give him a kiss on the cheek when he settled back down next to her and an affectionate little headbutt into his shoulder.

Jess couldn’t speak too much, but out of all the Toons in ToonTown, she knew Dakota wouldn’t mind. She did, however, mouth a ‘Thank you’ before lassoing an arm around his waist and turning the footage on again, quietly sipping at that remedy after settling back into place, huddled into his side and under his arm.
