Nervous System and Double Espresso -May 15, 2018
So this is my first post after a long hiatus. My study slowed down quite a bit due to mental health issues. I think it’s important to say -even if this helps just one person in the smallest way, I know I’ll have passed on some bit of help and hopefully their well-being is better a little- mental health is a huge factor while studying. It can effect the retention of information, the efficacy of your study. On a bad day I would barely be able to get through a paragraph in a single day. It’s important you put your well-being first. The man who founded Bach’s Flower Remedies once said “people don’t get sick, they get sad” (I may be paraphrasing *slightly*) His premise was that when your mental health starts going by the wayside, your physical health will start slipping too. When you think about it, he’s right. You get lethargic, you don’t want to get up, open your windows, drink enough water and eat properly. One day I just sat on my bed and couldn’t move because i was shaking so much and I think it’s important people look after themselves. Your brain is an organ too, it can get sick just like your heart, skin, liver. If you have a problem with them you can quantify it, you can see the problem. There’s still such a stigma about mental health that its all just “made up bullsh*t” and its not real because people can’t see it from the outside. The truth is so much further from that. By the same token once you start to feel better it’s important to nurture that too. Its like a small fire drenched after a rain shower. You need to build it up slowly and look after it, caring for it until its back burning again on its own
I know I’m rambling and these are just my own opinions that are coming from a personal place. I hope this reaches at least one person and they know they’re not alone, other people are going through the same thing and they’re probably not as far away as you think.
