AAAAAAAAHHHHH YEAHHHHH THAT IS A FUN AND FASCINATING THING ISN’T IT.
the first thing i did when creaturing him was look up what specific types of teeth do and like. i knew to some extent that an animal’s teeth are suited to their diet. but they seriously evolved scissor teeth. this is just a thing a lot of carnivores have. shout out to carnassials. what the hell.
but yeah carnivores straight up don’t have teeth for grinding like omnivores and herbivores do. best they’ve got is bone-crushing premolars and that’s literally not the same thing. and raw meat takes way too long to chew to the level that humans usually do their food. it’s a little wild to think about.
also just the other ways that different animals’ bodies are adapted to their diet? like this feels so obvious but yeah physiology entirely determines diet. can you chew it? can you digest it? is it what your body needs? your body determines this. you don’t get to choose.
