Film: Saved!

Nordic Song: Waltz for Richard - First Aid Kit

This is just a tiny little song about being trampled on by people who like to pretend they are important. I wrote it whilst driving home from work after a co-worker had thrown some rather horrific verbal abuse in my face. The song has a deep connection to this little-known comedy gem, a film that I feel diligently explores some controversial themes surrounding bullying and prejudice. Unfortunately there weren’t many clips to choose from, but I found one that neatly outlines the purpose of the entire film.

I decided to match the film’s genre and give the song a light-hearted simplicity, reminiscent of this charming little folk tune by Swedish sisters First Aid Kit. The song is about Richard Dawkins, which seemed appropriate.

Another actress who has always been an inspiration to me, both through her films and her music, is Jena Malone - never afraid to put a finger up to what other people expect from her, and way too tough to be pushed around by anybody.

Another big thanks to Tom who performed violin on this track, which was about the most annoying string part I’ve ever written. I hope you enjoy the song, and prepare for Track 4 in two tiny weeks!

A Masquerade

Tere are remarkably few outfits fro sale itn the area of Mr. Holom.  As such, when he goes to the masquerade in his town, he sees several repeated costumes.  He sees 23 cats, 18 pirates, 52 generic aristocrats, and 3 ears of corn.  If 30% of these costumes contain completely ridiculous colors, how many different pairings of strange and normal costumes can he make.  (Assume that the costumes cannot be of the same kind.)

a masquerade { diana & audric }

Today was a big day for the kingdom of Aerilon, and princess Diana herself. In honour of the young princess Diana's birthday, the kingdom was holding a masquerade ball, and everyone in Lagartha, the five kingdoms was invited. The ballroom was decorated very lavishly, with the wall candleholders all lit and it looked very welcoming and festive.

With the help of her lady, Cressida, Diana dressed in a pale gold gown with a golden headband on her head. (x) (x) Her long, wavy brown locks were left in their natural state, only simply brushed to look neat. 

In Diana's hands was a white-gold mask, (x) and she was standing next her sister, princess Alana having a small talk about the event and the people who were starting to come in. As the ballroom was beginning to fill with more guests, princess Diana slipped her mask on.
