Those who control the media decide what is misinformation. And In today's current times the American progressive left is the propaganda arm of American capitalism, Having said that, these organizations will do whatever it takes to silence those in opposition to their agenda with the label of misinformation.

Misinformation refers to false information that is not intended to cause harm. A piece of misinformation can be seen.

The Canadian state-funded news organization, CBC, made the claim that Russia was potentially behind the Truckers Convoy. The CBC announcer Nil Koksal made the claim that " Russian actors could be continuing to fuel things as this protest grows". This is pure misinformation given the fact that there is found evidence behind such claims. This type of news misleads the public and discredits the concerns of the movement which was towards the federal government and its laws concerning the handling of Covid - 19.

The fact of the matter is that the CBC was given 1 billion dollars by the Liberal government last year and is threatened by the notion of their funding being cut which was proposed by the Conservatives who are pushing to defund their organization. So their reason to discredit anything that goes against the Liberal government actually makes sense because their fighting to save their funding. While in theory, it makes sense, ethically it isn't correct and we can't ignore the fact that it isn't right for Canadians to pay for state propaganda otherwise we are living in a country more similar to Russia.

2. Mal-information refers to information that stems from the truth but is often exaggerated in a way that misleads and causes potential harm.

Trump's muslim ban was founded on Mal-information. In his words he was banning Muslims until the united states "figured out what the hell is going on". The reasoning was given the climate of terrorism and Isis attacks that were happening in the west. This was deliberate capitalization of the paranoia people had about terrorist attacks and Trump chose muslims as a scapegoat.

3. Disinformation refers to false information that is intended to manipulate, cause damage, or guide people, organizations, and countries in the wrong direction. The Chinese government and media outlets stated that Covid 19 came from US military soldiers and was responsible to blame for the virus. This piece of disinformation was put in place to manipulate the international community in the wrong direction. This piece of disinformation was a diversion from the fact that Covid-19 originated in China. The source of this came from a CCP ministry spokesman by the name of Zhao Lijia, who took to Twitter to push this unfound conspiracy theory. The fact that Twitter allows such posts and accounts to continue to become active really shows a lot about their ethics. Especially for the fact that they seem to favor some information as disinformation and misinformation.
