question on taz balance

a friend just got through the stolen century arc, so I was talking to them about it and i remembered one of my original confusions about the whole thing, where when barry and lucretia were debating their respective solutions to hiding the light of creation. 

i was like, “??? I don’t understand why can’t lucretia just use her shield to put a barrier around the light of creation” 

if putting the barrier around the world would stop the thrall but break the bonds between separate realities, why couldn’t you just. bubble only the light. it seems a lot more cost-efficient and easy than trying to split it into 7 different pieces or bubbling an entire reality.

i proceeded to become extremely confused in story and song when taako was like “bro we just bubble the hunger then” and everyone was like “oh why didnt i think of that” but anyways. can someone explain
