So, I have seen a few people wondering why Fadel wouldn't have looked for his ex, because most of us are at least a little bit upset and curious about what our exes are up to after a break up/ghosting, BUT if Fadel hinted or even told his ex about what he did or why he had to be so secretive (for TWO YEARS) then him not looking for him actually makes sense. Because to Fadel, it would have just proven to him that his ex could NOT handle Fadel being a hitman or that he was even AFRAID of him. If Fadel even hinted at it then he would have just assumed that the ghosting was warranted. That his disappearance was just him answering Fadel's question of whether or not they could be together after he was able to "get out" of his job.

Fadel would have taken that rejection and just sat with it and moved on. Because why look for him? Why drag him back to a life he doesn't want? Why beg this man for love? Fadel knows what he is, ok? He knows he is not a good person because of what he does. He has morals, but he also KILLS people. And he LOVED that guy. And Fadel's love isn't a selfish one. (In fact, it seems Style is the only person he ends up being selfish about lol) so it isn't really that shocking to me that he didn't go looking for him. He just took the rejection and let him go. (and then proceeded to guard the fuck out of his heart and vow not to fall in love again, which didn't end well for him obviously lol)

And even if he DIDN'T tell the boyfriend about his night job, he'd been with the guy two years and was STILL being dishonest or wishy washy when he was asked about his job and family. So, it wouldn't be too shocking to be broken up with or ghosted because that is a long time to be with someone when they won't give you their whole selves. So Fadel may have just taken the ghosting as a rejection and respected it. Like, ok. He doesn't want to be with me. Because I'm hiding shit. That's fair. It sucks and my heart hurts, but if that is what he wants, then I won't bother him.

Fadel was behaving in a way that we all wish men would behave after a breakup/rejection. With respect. So, I'm not mad at him at all for not looking for that guy or realizing that he was murdered.

Mmmm, okay, are we choosing pre-physical intimacy? So 2.09 pre-bedroom, 4.06 pre-Rosa's bookshelf and the picnic bench scene in 2.08? Because if we are, it's super tight, but I think I'd give it to 4.06.

To me, it's a matter of where the new ground is, the new territory claimed and tread and felt, and I think in 2.09, that was ultimately in the bedroom. It was in the physicality of that first-last kiss and the tenderness, the uncertainty, and the awkwardness of it as an act that Rio thought was a start and Beth needed to be an end.

4.06 is different in that sense, their physical intimacy is a reset, sure, but it's also not new. What's new is Beth at that table beside him, the way he opened a door and let her inside in a way that he hadn't done since he showed up at the park with Marcus in 2.01, and the intimacy there is in the trust, in letting her into this part of his life, and in the way he touches her back. What's more, is that yeah, maybe it's a little manipulative - he suspects she's informing on him after all - but it's not entwined with an ending like 2.09 was, or, god, even 2.04, given Beth wasn't expecting to actually see him again.

It was something given freely albeit not entirely openly, and I think we saw the impact of that on both of them, but especially Beth, who, as s4 went on to show, finally started seeing moments like that as beginnings too.

And I mean, look, I adore that moment in 2.08 too (the domesticity! the way he says he'll take care of it!! 😭) but it can't compare for me! 2.09 and 4.06 are both just IT.
