Head cannon but actual cannon where, after reaching Eridian, Grace tells all the pebbles(?) about the story of Laika, about how she's the patron saint of one way trips, about how during the trip back with Rocky, he prayed to her for a safe journey. And how he wishes he had toys/treats to give to her as thanks for bringing him to his new home. Safe to say, within the next (Eridian) week, there's a shrine dedicated to Laika near the landing spot of the spaceship. And every time they celebrate Grace's birthday, the kids make sure to leave their favourite trinkets and treats out for Laika as a thank you for their favourite teacher. Grace is beyond touched. Rocky still thinks that Grace is leakier than other humans (he's not wrong)
