Hey you
Comedy Presentation
So I was told I should talk about my final for my comedy class I took in college last semester, and now I have time because I just finished one job for the first half of summer and am just waiting to start my second job for the summer.
So, it's in 2 parts: The Presentation and The Paper
The Presentation was about how the theories of comedy relate to parody songs, with Weird Al being a main focus point, featuring Party in the CIA and Amish Paradise. I also did a song that my comedy a cappella group did, which was a parody of Unholy by Sam Smith and Kim Petras, and Diva's Lament from Spamalot. I basically spent the entire time talking about why the theories of comedy relate to parody songs so well. Considering I'm at music school, I spent a long time discussing how the instrumentals elevated lyrics and make everything even funnier, featuring the superioty theory as well as the play theory.
The Paper also mentioned Weird Al and parody songs, but I really focused on how arranging helped me understand the theories of comedy better, as I arranged for my a cappella group for both a parody song and a non-parody song. I explained how I really used the Incongruent theory to help the lyrics get even funnier, while still staying true to the original for the parody, as well as the non-parody song.
All in all, a very interesting thing. I did convince my a cappella group to actually record the songs I talked about in the paper, so they also have that for promotional materials. Did get 100% on it, which boosted my final grade from an 87% to a 94%
Here's the link to my paper, which also has my presentation in it, which I realize has info about real life. I have changed it so I don't reveal info about myself. I'll also put in the reblog the recordings of the arrangements.
@childlikegoblinqueen since you said you wanted to know about the presentation.

Activity announcement. Summer vacations are nearing their end, meaning that next week classes will start again. Given that I don't know how the rhythm of classes will be, I don't want to say anything other than if you see my activity drop significantly, that's why. In the meantime, I'll work in delivering everything that I have pending so that I start with a clean state by the time that moment comes!
i’m having such a busy day at work omg OF ALL DAYS why does it have to be today 😭😭😭😭😭😭
A presentation
Hi to my new followers ! I’d like to interact more with this community but I don’t know how. So, first of all, feel free to interact with me, I’ll enjoy it.
Also, I thought I could present myself in a few words.
I’ve chosen “Saturn” as a pseudonym because I’m a bit of an astronomy nerd and I like the letter S. I like the sound of Saturn. That’s it.
I’m 23, she/her, and I live in France (french is my mother tongue) where I am a student in French and compared literature. I have been taking a lot of stressful exams in my 6 years of studies (the French system can be very complicated so I won’t go into detail) and have become a highly stressed person. I’m working on that. Despite it all, I love what I do and I love the process of learning, and I think I can give some advice on that.
My ultimate goal, though, is to be a writer. I’ve known this since I was little. I don’t talk about it much because it is an intimate process, but I’ve always be open about the fact that this is my plan A.
I have way too much other interests (the problem with that is that I never go in depth of a subject because I get bored and go to something else). They include nature (with mountains), sports, astronomy but also physics/math as a complete newbie and amateur, movies and series, music, travels, languages, etc.
I speak French, English, a little bit of German. I’ve been discovering Korean and Spanish and plan on actually learning these. I know of Ancient Greek and am good in Latin.
I’m an introvert and a daydreamer.
I consider myself a relativist, which means I’m quite apolitical and do not take anything for granted (possessions or knowledge). I tend to avoid conflit an remain neutral (but that does not mean I don’t have beliefs of principles. I support rights, respect and equality for POC and queer people including trans people.)
I will love you if you make jokes/puns.
Sorry if this is too long or awkward, I’m not very good at presenting myself.
Feel free to tell me a bit more about you and/or ask me anything, I’ll be glad to read you and exchange.
