10 Books
I was tagged by linguisticjubilee, who is an absolute dreamboat and my cephalopal, so I shall comply. :D
Rules: In a text post, list ten books that have stayed with you in some way. Don’t take but a few minutes, and don’t think too hard — they don’t have to be the “right” or “great” works, just the ones that have touched you. Tag [ten] friends, including me, so I’ll see your list. Make sure you let your friends know you’ve tagged them.
1. Alien Secrets by Annette Curtis Klaus, because Puck+Hush interspecies friendship is awesome.
2. Good Omens by Neil Gaiman & Terry Prachett, because Aziraphale+Crowley angel/demon friendship is awesome.
3. Biting the Sun by Tanith Lee, because being able to die and be remade into WHATEVER BODY/GENDER/WHATEVER YOU WANT is awesome, and formulated a lot of my attitude toward my own gender.
4. Stone Soup by Ann McGovern, because I loved the art and I loved this kid tricking a crabby old lady into feeding him excellent food.
5. The Duluth Mongoose by Jack Denton Scott because TEA-DRINKING MONGOOSE. (I read this when I was like eight; this really explains a lot about my tastes in characters...)
6. The entire Animorphs series by K.A. Applegate, because teenagers turning into animals to save the world against aliens? Oh, yeah.
7. Falling Up illustrated poetry anthology by Shel Silverstein, because yup. Certain rhymes in particular have stuck in my head and never left.
8. An Otter's Story by Emil E. Liers, because a story about an otter family? So cute. Sometimes sad. But so cute.
9. Julie's Wolf Pack by Jean Craighead George, last part of the to Juile of the Wolves trilogy and following the story of the wolf pack before her.
10. Time Cat by Lloyd Alexander, wherein a cat takes his boy through nine lives in history and you get to see a passing glimpse of the different attitudes toward cats throughout time.
And I tag: a-grue, gonnaplotz, cnwarforged, billiondollarsuperhero, pani-ja, staceydono, captn-sara-holmes, eidheann, hitlikehammers
And PLEASE TAG ME BACK so I can go find and lurk your books and see what formed the wonderful brains that are in your wonderful heads. :D
