Puyuma Mandopop singer Kulilay Amit, stage name A-Mei, celebrated two decades of musical success and the sale of over 50 million records worldwide in 2016. A-Mei has won multiple Golden Melody Awards for Best Mandarin Female Singer for three of her best-selling albums and is hailed as one of the most talented active Sinophone artists. However, A-Mei is also known for stirring controversy in Sino politics. In 2000, after performing Taiwan’s national anthem at the inauguration of President Chen Shuibian (陳水扁), she was banned from performing and selling records in mainland China, and radios ceased to broadcast her music. In recent years, she has come forward as a firm advocate of LGBT+ rights, though she was banned from singing her famously LGBT+-friendly song “Rainbow” at a 2014 Singapore concert after a 2013 kisscam game that showcased both straight and gay couples in the same nation.

Before there was "labour" by Paris Paloma, there was 《母系社会》 （Matriarchy) by A-Mei, under her AMIT persona. It sounds quite horrific in terms of composition, especially with the MV accompanying it. It deals with sexism in terms of the little things which build up, which then explodes. A lot of feminine rage here.
