Forgive me if this is a little long, but I saw your ask about "favorite spells/rituals" and I wanted to share my little "homebrew" with you.
My morning ritual of making coffee.
On my altar (the morning side) sits; a motar and pestle, a mason jar full of consecrated coffee beans, a spoon, and 2 sets of cards.
As close to blue hour as I can, I start the electric kettle and I scoop 3 spoonfuls of beans into the motar. With the pestle, I grind the beans with any negative energy I may have lingering within me.
Once the kettle is finished, I place the grounds on a filter and carefully pour the boiling water as to not overfill the dripper and leave grounds on the sides of the filter untouched. The resulting steam releases that sweet aroma and with it brings luck into the house. The filter filters out the negative energy I put into the grounds, leaving behind the vigorating positive energy of the beans themselves. Once the cup is filled, the filter is tossed as it has served its purpouse.
(I could grind them normally, without all of this energy work, but I've found this process gives a bigger "punch" to the pick-me-up of the caffeine, and it generally lasts longer.)
The first sip is an offering. Always. To who, that depends on what I'm feeling, or the general vibe of the morning. For me, it is normally "To those who protect me, to those who guide me, and to those who grant me knoledge."
While I wait for my share to cool, I talk to my cards or if I feel the need, do a reading. Some days it'll be my tarot deck, some days it'll be my beloved Bicycle (poker) deck.
After I'm done talking to my decks, I drink every last drop before cleaning the cup, dripper, kettle, and altar. Now I'm ready to start my day!
I love your blog by the way! Have a wonderful morning❤️
oh i love this! this sounds like a perfect way to start each morning. "crushing" the beans with your negative energies sounds incredibly cathartic. thank you for sharing this with me, and thank you for the kind words - i hope your morning is great as well!
(if i might add, this sounds like a perfect opportunity to journal while you wait for the coffee to brew/cool off, as well!)
