I went to my local A.C. Moore yesterday and found some graffiti gems...and also a really good mixed media journal for a little under $6.
Ornaments that would be perfect if they weren't covered in glitter
Michaels Crafters needs to suck a bag of dicks
First you close Pat Catans and now A.C. Moore and have the BALLS to message me trying to welcome me to your shitty, garbage filled, cramped, panic attack inducing, over priced, understaffed shit hole?
Fuck you.
A GIANT fuck you.
All you've done is sent my art business to Amazon.

I’m so glad to be back at Marywood. I missed the routine I had during the school year, so it’s nice to get back on a schedule. The first week back was actually busier than I thought it would be, and filled with many things to do.
I’ve started my first project in my Illustration I class and I’m really excited for it. We have to design the cover of a biography for an icon. I’ve only created some sketches so far but I think it’s going to turn out nice! In my Painting II class, we started on a black and white still life with acrylic paints. I never really liked acrylics and it was challenging to go from slow drying oils to quick drying acrylics. I keep forgetting that I can’t just lay a color down and then come back to it in a bit because it will be dried already. I also feel I am using up paint faster. It will be a challenge to work with them, but I am sure I’ll get the hang of it eventually. I’m also taking Art History I which I am very excited about along with Figure Drawing I. I can’t wait to see what kind of work I create this semester!
I also had to spend some time this week stretching canvas for my painting class. I’m not sure how many I will need, but if the class is anything like Painting I, I’ll need a good amount. While stretching my own canvas is extra work, I enjoy doing it. It also saves money! While I was at A.C. Moore buying stretcher bars for my canvas, I found out they now offer a student discount. It’s for 15% off your total purchase including sale items if you have your student ID with you. Be sure to take advantage of that when getting supplies for the semester!
After a busy week of buying books and supplies, and assignments to do, I was able to relax and head down to Scranton for First Friday with my friends. It was great to look at all of the amazing and interesting art they had on display! I also saw some of the Freshmen I met from summer orientation there. It was great to see them going out and experiencing all that First Friday has to offer.
Before I go, here is just a quick look at some of the work I did this first week.
Until next time!
