Without New Jersey, there would be no Tyrion; Peter Dinklage was born in Morristown, NJ. Just as important, author George RR Martin is from Bayonne, NJ.

Even more important is that the first antibiotic in America came from New Jersey, produced by the soil microbe Streptomyces griseus.  Make it the official State Microbe.

New Jersey State Microbe

I proposed legislation after discussion with two distinguished professors at Rutgers to Create a State Microbe. The proposal was acted on by Senator Sam Thompson and Assemblywoman Annette Quijano who sponsored the bill(s) S3190 and A4900.
