We have been asking shelter management each week for an extension on Freckles. HE HAS 2 BEEN IN SHELTER 3 MONTHS! The shelter needed him to leave last week. Sadly, no rescue committed. Action is needed now. Freckles is rescue only, & rescues want to help, but they need experienced and committed foster homes. Are you willing to foster him? He is not as enthusiastic when we walk by him, not all wags & wiggles like he once was - seems to be losing hope which is really sad. When outside, he likes to jump up, he’s playful & does get a little mouthy with the leash if it’s doing something he doesn’t want to do. He does not do well with other dogs. A couple times we’ve walked him by other dogs & he showed no interest but there have been more times when he charged the other kennels & fence fought. He will try to dominate & re-directs when he gets over stimulated… He is pushy yes, aggressive no. Rescue only. 🆘 EUTH LISTED 🆘 New video from staff. They state that Freckles is very reactive around other dogs. As you can see he is friendly and happy with people, but he prefers to be an only pet. Some basic training with Freckles to establish his owner in a leadership role would be beneficial for him. This helps a dog to trust his in his pack leader. Shelter will only release Freckles to a rescue organization therefore he desperately needs PLEDGES, FOSTER OFFER, RESCUE 🔷RESCUE ONLY DUE TO BEHAVIOR - SEE SHELTER NOTES BELOW. Due to temperment DH 10/23/20 14:07 Took out to play yard. Dog leashed easily and walks well on leash. Quickly walked passed by the other kennels to prevent cage fight. Once out in play yard I was able to pet the dog and play fetch (he would chase but not retrieve) Did not seem to know basic commands. I was giving treats but he was rough taking them I had to be carfule so he would not bite my hand. When I was returning him to kennel he challenged the dog next to him kennel while I was putting him away. This is when it got difficult and dangerous to handle him. He was trying to push his way back out of kennel then tried to bite my leg. Dog has the potential to become aggressive and dangerous. Recommend Rescue. JS 10/15/20 12:09 Took out for photo.
