Later at night we walked along Bahnhofstrasse, the famous shopping street, decorated for Christmas with the iconic Lucy lights. After a photo class in San Francisco I went up to the San Bruno Mountain State Park. It was fun watching the fog roll in. Serene blue hour over the Black Rock Desert by Peter Thoeny - Quality HDR Photography Via Flickr: We spent the weekend at Balls, a big experimental rocket launch event in the Black Rock Desert in Nevada - the same place where Burning Man takes place. We were quite busy in daytime preparing and launching rockets. It's time for leisure after 6pm. We witnessed a clean sunset, then we went to take a hot bath in one of the hots springs adjacent to the playa. I processed a photographic, a balanced, and a paintery HDR photo from three RAW exposures, merged them selectively, and carefully adjusted color balance and curves. On our recent trip to Iceland we decided to travel at night and sleep in the daytime for two reasons: Almost no tourists, and better light for photography. We had late dinner at Grundarfjörður, then a midnight photoshoot at Kirkjufellsfoss. After that we headed west. I found this beach where water was seeping out of the sand and flowing into the ocean. This gave some nice reflections in the blue hour.
