Okay so once again I should meditate further upon this but here’s the (somewhat) less slop style immediate reaction post. I was reading Intersectional Antifeminism, or: What is a White Feminist, Anyway?
and it did indeed remind me of how despite my wariness of White Women, if I remember back to times in my own life, they cannot be better explained by anything other than “white women are indeed capable of immediately perceiving across any racial / national boundaries and recognizing another woman getting fucked the hell over by patriarchy, and immediately giving a shit, because all women are literally out here experiencing the patriarchal horrors.” I won’t get into specifics because that’s personal 🫠 but my own experiences/witnessings do like … align with the reminder that as a whole, women of all categorizes do have shared interests, and that women of, say, a same racial category as men of that category are absolutely gonna get cooked by the fact that male is generally across the globe seen as some universal default and the dude class is held up as the one with power.
….which is honestly probably why when The Betrayal(tm) hits, of someone who shares one set of class interests of you treating you like shit, it hits. But this is both in the case of, for example, racialized men betraying racialized women and white women betraying racialized women. wrt solidarity vs oooooo lemme get that power from the hierarchy
