A not-so-positive update on the Trans Amendment Act.

The preliminary hearings were scheduled today for all the Public Interest Litigations filed against the Act. Major Takeaways from the hearings:

1. It is assigned to a 3 judge bench which means that this is not a Constitutional Case and thus grants the judgement of the cases much lesser validity then a constitutional (5+) bench

2. No interim relief granted to the affected because "the Act hasn't been notified" (and yet many trans people have stopped receiving gender-affirming care because the providers, under this amendment, can be booked for "forced transition")

3. The fuckass CJI stated that "Cis people will misuse the Reservation and welfare schemes for Trans people" (We do not have any reservations/schemes for Trans people)

4. When the NALSA judgement (basically granting the right to self determination a place of Fundamental Rights) was brought up, one of the judges stated that the amendment does not take away from the legal recognition of Trans as a gender (except it does in section 18 of the fucking Act. Seriously nepotism in the Judiciary has gotten too bad, like how the fuck are these judges holding the highest offices of India without doing the bare minimum research??)

5. The SC has now granted the Government 6 weeks (6 FUCKING WEEKS) to notify the guidelines of the Act and then the next hearing will take place

I have a very strong fondness for Moon's romance, not only for how she comes across in asks by the symbolism too.

It makes me think of like, how a hunter who much track at night must love the moon, especially when full, for giving them light to see by, for being their stalwart companion as they go forth into the night. The dark is not scary because they are not alone.

Moon’s romance makes me think, mayhaps the moon loves a hunter just as much, for using her light to see by, for deciding she provides more than enough, for not comparing her to others in ways she could not compare because her job is to provide very different things. A hunter does not blame her for tragedy or the harm that others cause.

A hunter loves her, and so the moon loves a hunter.

So why wouldn’t Moon love the Hunter and vice versa?

They are not opposites, there is no poetic celestial reason that makes everyone think they belong together, but it does not mean it is not so.

Is it not more poetic to love those who provide and care for you? Who persist by your side for the sake of your company and nothing else?

Is it not more poetic to love those that see you for who you are instead of who you are not? Who love you for what you can do and what you cannot? Who decide there is never need for words like despite when you are the subject of conversation?
