Recently @aaliyah-draws has received some extremely rude and completely uncalled for anon messages and it was really bothering me.

I love seeing her on my dash and she’s a wonderful part of both the Arcana community and the Tumblr community at large. Her art is amazing and she does a lot to support other artists on the platform.

Aaliyah, I’m so sorry you’ve had to deal with nasty anons lately. I hope you know how much we all love you around here. I wanted to surprise you with some fanart of your lovely Valarie to hopefully brighten your day a little bit. Keep your head up!! <3

So long story short, remember that fan animatic that I planned to make into an animation? Well, I lost the animation file when I was moving stuff onto a new hard drive, and since then, I haven’t had the motivation to start over (or animate anything in general, since I had just finished my senior thesis).

BUT THEN! @aaliyah-draws posted gladiator version of her fan apprentice, and I was so inspired that I decided to create a short 2 second animation, because oh my gosh! I love her design!!

Anyway, I wasn’t able to completely capture all of the detail from the original drawing, so if you haven’t already, go check it out on her blog!!

I’ve been meaning to draw all of these darlings for- so so so very long. I also wanted to say some sappy stuff that I will put under the cut for each artist ;w; Enjoy!!

Moonwort - @cakiebakie​ Illian - @lazyvoyager​  Valarie - @aaliyah-draws​

Moonwort - The very first fan apprentice I saw and grew to love immensely. Seriously this baby is the reason I started even drawing my apprentice Robin in the first place! They are so flipping gorgeous and make me soso happy when I see a new piece of art work with them in it!! Cakiebakie is an incredible artist and I seriously owe them for basically introducing me to the lovely fandom of The Arcana.

Illian - I found Lazy around March of this year and I’m still blown away every time I see their art with Illian and all of his children. If I’m not careful I probably might end up drawing all of them and then we’d have a problem, hahah. Lazy got me super into the idea of Arcana babies- which is weird to say but I hadn’t really thought much into the concept until seeing their plethora of kiddos. Hopefully with time I can start making some teeny beanies of my own!! (Also this is so super late, I asked Lazy back in APRIL if it was okay to draw Illian. ;-;)

Valarie - I remember finding Aaliyah-draws around tumblr with their adorable art style and piles of Julian art work. I remember scrolling through their tumblr one night and looking at the clock after a while to find it was 3am (which meant there was probably a dumpster full of my likes spamming poor Aaliyah D:) Their artstyle is a-freaking-dorable, something I’ve wanted to learn to do for a while since pen and paper are my enemies, but they pull it off so flawlessly. Not to mention Valarie and all her interactions with poor Julian!!

Long story short--- I love all of these artists and their fan apprentices and there will be more to come soon when I get around to drawing the other 5 I have planned, so stay tuned!!!
