it was created as a foil for aaran; but since aaran is so incredibly multi-faceted, a true opposite is completely devoid of personality

it originally didn’t possess a medallion of the immortal (the gold medallion around its neck and aaran’s waist), and it obviously wasn’t bothered by this but aaran requested that it receive one

aaran doesn’t know if nyuma is a human creature like them (though aaran isn’t exactly "human” either), but doesn’t care

nyuma is rather sheltered bc aaran is pretty protective of it

aaran tried to give nyuma a pair of boots to keep it from stubbing its toes on the pair’s travels, but nyuma has an oddly fierce aversion to shoes

nature is attracted to nyuma, with seeds blown into its hair sprouting moments later and small critters hiding in there too, and aaran has no idea why

me neither i didn’t come up w an explanation

one day, aaran catches and guts a rabbit to eat; nyuma frowns at this, and aaran never even looks at rabbits again
